While everybody else is looking for their favorite burger joint in Beirut, I decided to make my own:
Lou’s homemade burgers
The recipe is pretty straight forward. In fact it’s all about what you put in the patty. Here’s my version:
0/ Buy the best minced beef meat you can find
1/ Put your mustard, dried herbs, onions, breadcrumbs, egg, salt & pepper into a blender
2/ Blend everything until you get a homogeneous mixture
3/ Place the mixture and the minced meat in a bowl and stir some more
4/ If you like your patty extra thick, use 1kg of meat to make 6 patties
5/ Divide the meat evenly, then roll into a ball and proceed to flattening
6/ Place the patties in the fridge for 5 minutes to confirm their shape
7/ Cook them on a frying pan with a little bit of vegetable oil or in the oven if you prefer the light version
I eat my burgers with strawberry jam, Dijon mustard, grilled mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and iceberg lettuce.
For an even yummier texture paint the bread with olive oil and fry it in a pan until golden.
